A football prediction platform that earns its keep on transparency
Lotteria Nazionale Iberica S.L. was incorporated in the Madrid Mercantile Registry on the seventh of September 2023. Eighteen employees, one office on Calle de Alcalá, one platform serving forty-two thousand verified players across Spain.
From a Madrid living room to a registered platform
In the spring of 2022, Eduardo Salinas and Penelope Wright started keeping a shared spreadsheet of LaLiga predictions for a group of fifteen friends spread across Madrid, Valencia and Bristol. The spreadsheet grew, the rules tightened, and by January 2023 it was the most-checked tab in three different group chats.
By summer the spreadsheet became impossible to maintain by hand. Eduardo, formerly a back-end engineer at Telefónica, and Penelope, formerly a compliance officer at an Edinburgh fintech, decided to rebuild the spreadsheet as a regulated platform. Incorporation followed in September. Initial KYC framework was completed with Veridas the same quarter. By November 2024 the platform held its first verified cash pool — fifty-seven players, €142.50 in entries, a final prize of €12.75 to a Bilbao engineer named Iker.
The platform crossed forty-two thousand verified players this spring. The original spreadsheet is still archived inside the office for posterity and minor humiliation.
The team running the platform today
Three quarters of the team are based in Madrid, the rest split between Barcelona and a small remote rotation in Bristol. We hire bilingually and publish a salary band for every advertised role.
